Primary cultures of pigmented epithelial cells from retinal PE (RPE) cells were cultured in DMEM complete medium, composed of DMEM and 20% FBS for two weeks. The medium of ocular PE was changed to serum free medium, with a cellular RNA extraction then performed after an overnight culture. The RPE were also found to be 95% cytokeratin positive after 14 days of incubation.

Primary cultures of pigmented epithelial cells from retinal PE (RPE) cells were cultured in DMEM complete medium, composed of DMEM and 20% FBS for two weeks. RPE cells were stimulated with IFNg (final 100 U/ml) for 24hrs. The medium of ocular PE was changed to serum free medium, with a cellular RNA extraction then performed after an overnight culture. The RPE were also found to be 95% cytokeratin positive after 14 days of incubation.
